Compliance Checks
Sponsors must comply with all duties outlined in the Sponsor Guidance. Failure to do so can lead to compliance action from UKVI, including suspension or revocation of the sponsor licence. The Sponsor Guidance is extensive and frequently updated, so regular internal reviews are essential to ensure ongoing compliance.
UKVI may conduct a compliance check as part of a new sponsor licence application or at any point while an organisation holds a licence. The purpose of the check is to assess whether the organisation is complying with its duties, or is capable of doing so.
If your organisation is expecting a compliance check, or wishes to assess its current level of compliance, we offer a remote, or on-site, sponsor compliance review.
On-Site Sponsor Compliance Reviews
To carry out an on-site compliance review, we visit the organisation’s premises, review and observe operating practices and policies and also conduct an interview (if required) with key personnel to understand how sponsorship duties are managed in practice.
On-site reviews are particularly valuable for sponsors who want a realistic assessment of their readiness for a UKVI compliance visit or who wish to strengthen internal processes across multiple departments.
We compare the organisation’s systems, policies and day-to-day processes against current UKVI requirements, drawing on our experience of supporting sponsors through compliance checks and UKVI investigations. This allows us to identify any gaps, risks or areas where improvements may be needed.
If preferred, we can also incorporate a training session on sponsor compliance as part of the visit.
Feedback can be provided on the day of the review, and we can prepare a detailed written report setting out our findings and recommendations.
